ケンブリッジ国際認定校となりました

2026年5月、茗溪学園中学校高等学校はケンブリッジ国際教育（Cambridge International Education）より認定を受け、ケンブリッジ国際認定校（Cambridge International School）となりました。Cambridge Lower Secondary ProgrammeとCambridge IGCSE™を履修するケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス（IC）を、2027年度に入学する中学1年生より段階的に開設いたします。 

• ケンブリッジ国際教育

本クラスでは、複数の教科（英語・数学・理科・社会）において英語による授業（英語で学ぶ科目）を実施し、思考力・表現力・国際的な学力の育成を目指します。
 
これにより、本校中学校は、既存のアカデミアクラス（AC）2クラス、茗溪ジェネラルクラス（MG）3クラスに、新設のケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス（IC）を加えた、計6クラス編成となります。
 
 
新設の背景
茗溪学園は、長年にわたり帰国生受け入れ校としての実績を重ねてまいりました。また、高等学校においては、2016年より国際バカロレア（IBDP）認定校として、世界水準の教育を実践しています。

• 国際バカロレア（IB）クラス

今回のケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス新設は、こうした本校の教育の歩みを踏まえ、中学校段階から高等学校のIBDPコースへとつながる「国際的な学びの連続性」を、より一層充実させることを目的としています。
 
カリキュラムの詳細や入学者選抜等については、学園説明会もしくは5月23日（土）に実施するケンブリッジインターナショナルクラス説明会でご説明いたします。

Meikei High School has been approved as a Cambridge International School, registered to offer education programmes and qualifications from the Cambridge Pathway for secondary school students.

We will gradually introduce the Cambridge International Class (IC), in which students study the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and Cambridge IGCSE™, starting with students entering the first year of junior high school in the 2027 academic year.

• Cambridge International Education

In this class, subjects including English, Mathematics, Science and Humanities will be taught in English. Through learning academic content in English, the programme aims to develop students’ critical thinking skills, communication abilities, and internationally recognized academic competence.
 
With this addition, the junior high school will consist of a total of six classes: two Academia (AC) Classes, three Meikei General (MG) Classes, and one Cambridge International Class (IC).
 
Background of the New Class
 
Meikei Gakuen has a long history of welcoming returnee students and has built a strong foundation in international education. Furthermore, since 2016, the senior high school has been an authorized International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) school, offering education at a global standard. 

• International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) class

The establishment of the Cambridge International Class is intended to further strengthen the continuity of international learning from junior high school through to the IBDP course at the senior high school level.
 
Details regarding the curriculum and the admissions process will be announced in the May 23 International Class information session and other school information sessions.
